So this time, I wanted to post something about one of
my favorite topics/one of my obsessions: Harajuku!
WHAT IS ‘’HARAJUKU’’?
Actually, it’s a district in Shibuya ward, Tokyo,
Japan. It’s also the name of the notable fashion style of the people in that
area. There are different kinds of Harajuku styles. Like Cosplay, (the
different styles of) Lolita, Wa Mono and many maaaaany more.
-
Cosplay: Cosplayers are people who dress
like their favorite anime or cartoon characters. They often dye their hair in
extreme colours and wear make-up.
- Lolita: I can’t réally explain this style tbh, because there are many different ‘’Lolita’’ styles. Two examples are Gothic- and Sweet Lolita. Gothic Lolita is a style where people wear black and white clothes, wear dark make-up and wear jewelry with skulls, spiders and crosses. Sweet Lolita is the opposite of Gothic Lolita. Sweet Lolita is a ‘’cute’’ style. Sweet Lolita girls wear pink, white or other pastel colours and often have a bow in their hair. Sometimes, they also have circlelenses, fake eyelashes and fake nails. The Japanese singer Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is very popular in the Harajuku world, because of her different styles.
-
Wa Mono: Wa Mono is actually kinda
traditional, because people wear things like Kimono’s (traditional Japanese
clothes) combined with (for example) cowboy boots or jeans. Wa Mono girls also
make their faces really white and wear bright make-up.
Ok omg haha, the styles from above are
just a few examples. The problem of this topic is that there’s just TOO many
information. Or I’m just lazy. Probably the last one tho.
So my friend has a sister that has her own online shop called Kawaii Deluxe! It’s full of cute clothes, food,
circlelenses, kigurumi costumes and more. So if you want to look like a Sweet
Lolita girl or anything else that’s cool, this is absolutely the website that
you need! (Mainly the Netherlands and Belgium, but they also ship worldwide)
Like Kawaii Deluxe on Facebook and follow on Instagram/Twitter:
